Training No Matter What!

July 1st, 2009

If you truly want to reach your next goal in physical performance, sometimes you just have to push through the unexpected obstacles. Last night at about 9:30 I was doing some joint mobility and warm up drills in preparation for my workout when the unexpected happened. A pipe had busted upstairs and water rushed through the walls, into my bedroom and through the floor to the first floor! I ran downstairs to witness three waterfalls pushing through the ceiling in my gym. Two through some recess lighting fixtures and one forcing it’s way through a seam in the drywall. I had to get the water shut off asap and get the towels, mops, and buckets! I did the best that I could with what I had. Now, 12am, I decided to not be held back by this ordeal. I was going to train anyways! So with only the glow of a flashlight and an inch of water on the floor, I stomped my way through my two hour kettlebell workout. I knew I’d be tired when I woke up, but hey, I was glad I pushed through!

Optimal Training Performance Tip

June 26th, 2009

For optimal training performance as well as adequate recovery, add some joint mobility drills before and after your training session.

Mobile joints throughout the body help create strength, yet immobile joints create weakness and inefficient performance.
