Our cave dwelling ancestors never woke up with the intent to exercise, because for them, life was exercise. The strength they possessed was “true strength”, and was applied with the body working as one integrated unit.
In today’s world, our posture is being molded by the “triple C threat”, the couch, the computer, and the car. With this in mind, our training should be designed to break this mold! While exercising, try to avoid being supported by an outside force, such as a chair, a bench, or a machine, just get up and lift something!
By using your own body to support itself during your workouts, you will build structural integrity, resistance to injury and strength you can apply in the real world. Whether you are lifting bricks, washing machines, or kettlebells, the “caveman strength” concept remains unchanged.
